Having an active role in the construction of the National Qualifications Framework, MESS has been authorized by the Vocational Qualifications Authority to prepare National Vocational Standards and National Qualifications in the automotive and metal sectors. As of February 2010, 23 vocational standards became effective on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. Moreover, 14 National Qualifications, which represent the second step in the construction of NQF, are to be prepared by MESS in 2010.
