MESS is pleased to announce the selection of its new President Mr. Tugrul Kudatgobilik. Mr. Kudatgobilik and the new members of the board were selected at the 41th General Assembly meeting held in Istanbul on April 17, 2010. Mr. Kudatgobilik will carry on the Presidency of MESS for the next 3 years.
Born in 1940, Mr. Kudatgobilik graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law and received his masters' degree in economics at London School of Economics. He started to work at the Koc Group in 1968 and had worked in various companies and positions of the Group, mainly in Arcelik, until 2003 when he retired as the head of the Industrial and Public Relations Group.
Mr. Kudatgobilik, who has been the President of Turkish Employers' Association of Metal Industries (MESS) since April 2001, is also the President of the MESS Training Foundation (MEV). He has been a member of TUSIAD (Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association) Social Relations Committee and Bogazici University Foundation and Member of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul College (IEL).
Mr. Kudatgobilik is a member of Social Affairs and Industrial Affairs Committees of BUSINESSEUROPE, which affiliates TISK and TUSIAD as members, and has been a member of Turkey-EU Joint Consultative Committee since 1995. Kudatgobilik will carry on the co-presidency of Turkey-EU Joint Consultative Committee for the period 2008-2010.
Mr. Kudatgobilik is the President of Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TISK), which affiliates 22 different branches of business, since December 2004.
